October 29 6:30pm show
Leonard Patton on vocals
The Big Tree Brass Band
was born during the early shut down as an outlet to keep everyone sane and happy, blowing New Orleans style funk and jazz every week in the park and growing their own sound.
long time New Orleans drummer, drank enough Mississippi River water to second line from Nola to San Diego and now spends his time sparking new brass bands drenched in the Nola brass band vernacular around Southern California.
trumpet has taken him around the world, but nothing makes him happier than holding up the high end of the Big Tree Brass Band.
brings the low end with a heavy, amplified tuba sound that moves and grooves!
moved to San Diego in 2007 after attending University of Miami. Since then he has played trombone with dozens of local bands and has toured with the Brian Setzer Orchestra.
preferring the bigger, richer tone of the tenor and baritone saxophones, has been bringing his soulful sound to countless recordings, festivals and venues throughout the Southland for 35 years.
